This is great Patrick! What happened to this blog though? I see that there are no recent posts. I just started a blog about the Aleutian Campaign/Alaska and I was so excited to see this. Were teachers actually teaching this? Teachers should teach this! I would love to know more on how it went.

Hey Karen. The blog was for my MAT, so once I earned that, the blog was basically an afterthought. I will say though that I do use it and the resources I have on here. The other US History teachers and I do teach about the Aleutian Island campaigns, in fact, we end up showing all of Red, White, Black, and Blue. If I have time, I usually give the kids 2-3 days in our computer lab to work on this with a partner and then we wrap up with the PBS movie. I love teaching this bc by the time they get to me, they've done WW2 now at least 2 times (middle school and 10th grade World History) and no one ever stresses these events so it gives the kids a new look. I also cover Japanese internment in America before they start this so that they have a little background on the social aspect of whats going on.
